The Duck

This feathered friend won't be flying the coop any time soon. After a successful 2007, the Aflac Duck is back in the passenger's seat for eight Sprint Cup races this NASCAR season. He won't be flying solo though, as Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion, will be along for the ride. Together they will be flying around the track leaving competitors in a flurry of feathers. But enough about Edwards, this is all about that famous super–bird, the Duck.

In 2007, the Duck teamed up with Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth and Jamie McMurray. This wildly popular bird led the elite group of drivers to one Busch Series title, a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series win at Kansas and three other great finishes. Although a rookie at the highest level of racing last year, the Aflac Duck saw more than his fair share of racing success along the way. Winning the points title in the Duckling Series, as well as the Spring and Fall Migration Circuit, the Aflac Duck parlayed this experience into a successful inaugural season both on and off the track.

Speaking of off the track escapades, the Duck was very busy this offseason. After flying south for the winter, the Duck flew first–class to Southern California where he is no stranger to the bright lights of Hollywood (he did star in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, after all). It was here that he was able to take the wheel for the first time and became an experienced driver as he drove Edwards around the race track for the newest Aflac commercial. When asked about how it was to work with Edwards, the Duck simply replied, "Aflac!"

In his free time, the Duck enjoys swimming, watching NASCAR races, promoting "Aflac!" any chance he can get and helping pay cash fast to those who are hurt and can't work. He looks forward to bringing home the checkered flag with Edwards in 2008.
