Indiana Electrician Wins Aflac Racing's Owner for a Day

Larry Wood Wins Day with Famed Owner Jack Roush in Miami

Jack Roush gives winning advice to Owner for a Day promotional winner, Larry Wood, and son Leighton Wood

Columbus, Ga. (Nov. 18, 2007) - There are many perks of winning Aflac Racing's Owner For a Day promotion, but the biggest reward for winner Larry Wood was just spending some quality time with his son, Leighton, who he took with him on this trip of a lifetime.

"I have been a NASCAR fan for as long as I can remember but due to my hectic work schedule, I have never made it to a race," said Wood. He was also looking forward to spending time with his son. "We are both electricians, so our work schedules make it hard for us to spend time together. I would like to thank Aflac for giving me this opportunity to attend a NASCAR race and spend some well-overdue quality time with my son."

Many NASCAR fans have thought about what it would be like to be a racing-team owner for a day. With its Owner For a Day promotion, Aflac Racing wanted to bring a NASCAR fan closer to the action than they could ever get. Last weekend in Miami, Larry Wood of Connersville, Ind. was able to experience it first-hand.

One of the many benefits of winning Owner For a Day was the opportunity to hang out with Roush Fenway Racing team owner, Jack Roush. Wood, an electrician of 33 years for an automotive air conditioning plant, was able to pick Roush's brain to see what it is like to own one of the newest and most dynamic teams on the circuit. The Woods also enjoyed airfare and hotel accommodations for two in Miami as well as behind the scenes access to see the garages and preparations for a race.

Wood won the contest by entering on the Aflac Racing Web site. He was chosen at random.
