Edwards Scores Runner-Up Finish at Darlington

DARLINGTON, S.C. (May 11, 2008) – Carl Edwards considers Darlington Raceway one of his favorite racetracks on the NASCAR Sprint Cup tour. The driver of the No. 99 Roush Fenway Ford would like nothing more than to add a victory at the famed speedway to his already impressive resume. Edwards' No. 99 team struggled in practice and qualifying to find the setup they needed to give him the opportunity to make his desire a reality, but changes made to the car before and during the race brought their Ford Fusion to life. Edwards was able to rebound from a 36th-place starting position to finish second on Saturday night.

Edwards Survives Ricmond Wreck to Finish Seventh

RICHMOND, Va. (May 4, 2008) — Carl Edwards was able to recover from a mid-race wreck to finish seventh at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night, recording his sixth top-10 finish of the 2008 season. Edwards appeared to have a strong car in the early going of the event, but struggled with track position. Despite sustaining damage, Edwards’ No. 99 Roush Fenway Ford Fusion was one of the fastest cars on the racetrack, and rallied in the second half of the race to become the highest finishing Ford.

Edwards Experiences Tire Woes in Talladega

TALLADEGA, AL. (April 27, 2008) — Carl Edwards and the No. 99 Roush Fenway team went into Talladega with lots of momentum. They had a series leading three wins and a solid spot in the top-10 in overall points. Edwards has always looked at the 2.66-mile superspeedway as a challenge and this 500-mile wreck-fest was no different. Unfortunately, the Aaron’s 499 turned into a battle for survival for Edwards.

Edwards Rebounds to Finish Fourth at Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ. (April 12, 2008) — Last fall, it appeared that Carl Edwards had the car to beat at Phoenix International Raceway. Unfortunately, a part failure eliminated him from contention for that win. Fast forward nearly five months, and it appeared once again that Edwards would be a contender for the win. After running inside the top five for the first half of the race, Edwards had one of the fastest cars on the racetrack. However, problems on pit road would put Edwards back in the pack and facing the daunting task of coming from one lap down. Edwards was more than up for the challenge, as he rallied late in the race to finish in the fourth position.

Carl Edwards and the Aflac Duck Bring Home the Checkered Flag

FT. WORTH, Texas. (April 6, 2008) - Carl Edwards celebrated in Victory Lane today with the Aflac Duck and his No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion at Texas Motor Speedway. Edwards, with his famous feathered co-pilot, convincingly won the Samsung 500 in Fort Worth, Texas. Edwards, who won for a Sprint Cup Series-leading third time this season, moves into 10th place in the Chase with 881 points. By winning three of his first seven races of the season, Edwards matches a feat achieved by Jimmie Johnson on his way to winning the Cup championship in 2007. This also was Edwards' second career win at Texas Motor Speedway.

Edwards Picks Up Third Win of 2008 Season at Texas

FT. WORTH, Texas. (April 6, 2008) - Carl Edwards considers Texas Motor Speedway as one of his favorite tracks on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit. The driver of the No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion has been strong thus far in 2008 at the mile-and-a-half tracks, and headed west looking for redemption following a dominating performance but disappointing finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway last month. Top-10 Finish Goes Up in 'VAPORS' For Edwards

BRISTOL, Tenn. (March 16, 2008) - Carl Edwards appeared to be on his way to a top-10 finish at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon,but on the final restart of the event Edwards' No. 99 Roush Fenway Ford Fusion did not come up to speed.  A vapor lock caused an interruption of fuel pressure to the carburetor, resulting in a slow roll to the finish line for Edwards.

Edwards had the Car to Beat in Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. (March 9, 2008) - Carl Edwards headed to Atlanta Motor Speedway on the heels of a controversial week following his No. 99 team's victory at Las Vegas and subsequent penalties that resulted from the oil tank cover becoming dislodged during the race. Edwards had the perfect race going on Sunday to quiet his naysayers, as he had one of the fastest cars in the field for the majority of the race. However, just 51 laps from the finish, Edwards suffered a mechanical failure in the engine of his No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion that would relegate him to a 42nd-place finish.

Biffle Holds On For 17th in Aflac Ford Fusion

FONTANA, CA. (September 2, 2007) - Greg Biffle and the No. 16 Aflac team went to California this weekend hoping to come home with a top-10 finish. It seemed that they had something to work with based on their practice times and qualifying effort but from the drop of the green flag, they just couldn't get the handling right on the Aflac Ford Fusion. They made major changes throughout the race but in the end, Biffle was credited with a 17th place finish. Biffle remains 15th in the Nextel Cup point standings.

Kenseth Rebounds from Eight Years Off to Finish Sixth at Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (August 11, 2007) - An addition to Matt Kenseth's Busch Series schedule midseason had him back racing at Watkins Glen for the first time since 1999. In the past Kenseth hasn't faired so well at the 2.45-mile road course, but this time he turned that around with a top-10 finish. The team built a brand new road course car and took it to Watkins Glen to see what they had only to get in half the allotted practice time on Friday due to some rainy weather in the area. Kenseth still managed a 16th-place starting position and gained 10 spots on his previous high finish of 16th at the Glen earning at sixth-place finish.
